Mitsubishi Motors to Exhibit Next Lancer at Motor Show

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. announced to exhibit Lancer, the next version of sport sedan, at the 62nd International Motor Show (IAA) Cars in Frankfurt on Sept. 13-23, 2007 (public open days).

In Europe, Lancer will be released with Lancer Revolution at the end of 2007. Also, the company will exhibit Outlander series equipped with two types of new engines.



Lancer is mounted with a 1.5-liter or 1.8-liter petrol engine or 2.0-liter diesel engine. The maximum output is 81 kW (110 PS) for 1.5-liter engine, 106 kW (144 PS) for 1.8-liter engine and 103 kW (140 PS) for 2.0-liter engine.



Either a 5-speed or 6-speed stick shift, 4-speed or 6-speed automatic shift or continuously variable transmission (CVT) is installed, depending on the engine. Lancer Evolution is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine.

In 2008, a five-door model, Lancer Sportback, will be added to the lineup, aimed at the hatchback-minded European users.
